Beautiful sunshine a perfect, just a little waving, good old pitch was prepared for the 2 games on Star Wars Day. The RCL welcomed Zurich for the NLFA match and St Gallen / Konstanz for the NLC game, which btw the lads won.
At the beginning, spectators adn maybe even some Dangel players were a little confused by the Valkyries new outfit as they had to borrow the 40 year anniversery shirts of the RCL - someone might have forgotten the Zurich shirt ... But after the first confusion was gone, the Dangels dominated the game with great determination and team work. The score might not show it, but the Valkyries made it very hard, with good tackles and quick counter rucking, they couls steal the ball quite a few times. Unfortunately, after a head to head tackle, the team from Zurich had to play with only 14 players - luckily nobody was seriously injured.
The Dangels could show some great moves and continued to work as a team with phanominal support runs and could fight their was through a solid Valkyrie defense. Scoring 7 tries and converting 5 of them (special thanks to Zoe) while keeping their try zone clean.
With this win, the Dangels made it second on the league table and securing a homegame for the semi-finals against Lausanne Albaladejo Ladies on June 1st. Safe the date as the RCL men will also have a home game - so we will be back for some double trouble ;-)
