It was a beautiful sunny day in Basel that saw the hosts welcome the Luzern Dangels for the penultimate league match of the season. The match started evenly, with both sides looking toga a physical edge and get on the front foot. After the opening exchanges, the Dangels were able to gain the upper hand and scored some wonderful team tries in the first half to lead 0-29 at half-time. Luzern’s constant defensive pressure meant that Basel struggled to get a foothold in the game in the second period. The Dangels added three more tries in the second period, again with some great team play creating space despite a determined Basel defensive effort. The final score of 0-46 was a fair reward for Luzern’s most cohesive display of the season and a bonus present for Birthday-Dangel Lolli. The players and coaches are already excited about the opportunity to play Zurich Valkyries in the final league game of the season in Luzern on Star Wars day (May the Fourth) next weekend. It should be a great rugby day!
