First up was a tough clash against Rugby Club La-Chaux-de-Fonds. In a physical and evenly matched contest, both teams battled hard for dominance. With a few seconds left Luzern was losing 13:15, but Luzern found a final spark and crossed the try line in the dying seconds to snatch an 18:15 victory.
A week later came the highly anticipated Innerschweizer Derby against RC Zug. Emotions ran high and neither side gave an inch in a fierce contest. Once again, Luzern left it late—scoring a last-minute try to secure a dramatic 19:17 win and send the home crowd into celebration mode and giving their coach nearly a heart attack.
Despite the two thrilling wins, Luzern made things harder than necessary with a series of forced and unforced penalties in both matches. Going forward, improved discipline will be crucial if they want to keep the momentum going and aim for a strong finish this season.
With these two victories, RC Luzern was able to secure their first place in the NLC
